It also has deluxe ebony pegs, purfling, and tailpiece; 1 fine tuner; a Guarneri chin rest; German maple bridge; and a hand-rubbed spirit varnish finish in shaded old-world dark amber color. im a violinist and my son is in the seventh grade he to plays violin so when he asked me for this violin i researched it and purchased 2 one for me one for him and the violin is perfect from middle school to adult this violin is great so if you have a son in middle school that wants this violin dont turn him or her down because this instrument is perfecto

The tone is warmer than average, but the instrument I received is different from what I saw on their Website and the finish was not too good. Otherwise, it is a very good violin in the price range.

I have been searching for a new violin for well over a year now. I've tried many violins, but nothing that was of any decent quality. When I came across this model, I knew I had to at least try it out. What first caught my eye was the 'played-for-years' look. I have always loved old violins, and this one looked as though it had been around for decades, if not centuries. Then when the violin actually came in, I was completely satisfied with not only the features, but the quality as well. It's very easy to play and is good enough to be played by most, if not all, levels of playing. I am most definately satisfied with this violin.

I'm quite happy with this violin. I find it's more responsive than most violins I've played in its price range. It's a little weak on the G string, but overall, it's not too screechy, except for the G# on th e E first string. I am sure I will purchase another violin in the future but, as an intermediate player, this suits me well. I should add that I work as a professional musician (though not on the violin) and have a great deal of experience with various instruments. I like this one.
