This is an amazing reliable instrument. I use it in my acoustic/indie/blues band for a glockenspiel type effect and it works wonders. Amazing quality. Awesome tone, and for that price I recommend it to anyone. Hands down the best for the price!

I got this last year for my percussion class and the sound outshines all the ludwig bell sets and pads. This is a more experienced drum pack, for example, the bells come with stickers for notes which I just took off. The case tears very easily, but I have used the backpack straps since last year and I have had to tie them back up as a quick fix for tearing. The rims on the pad are low and I play better on my pad than anyone elses, the pad is very bouncey and everyone loves to play it. I suggest taking out the metal balls inside as they are annoying and just make it heavy. I even use the bells on my set for my neil peart moments. The worst problem I have had with this bell kit is that it does not go very high and I'm almost 6ft tall. Buy this kit, its amazing.

I had to get this for school, and it is really good. After about a couple weeks, the coating on the pad started coming off, and just got worse. Its stopped coming off now, and still sounds great. It is very easy to set up, and is very adjustable. The worst part about it is the case and roller. Since I had to walk to school, I started using the roller. Eventually, it broke, and it could not stand upright. Then I started carrying it like a backpack but the strap broke. Overall, it sounds great, but it is not the best.

I have Pearl bell set with the practice pad very simaler to this one, mine just doesnt have wheels. The pad is excellent for practicing sticking patterns on and screws on to the stand very easily, this is by far the best product in this set even though being the simpelest. The bells on the other hand are a much different story, they break very easily while totting them around in the bag and the bag is easily ripped but for a beginner band student this is a good deal although the screws come out of the set. This is a cheap deal but well worth it.

I got the Pearl PK-800C for my daughter, a 13-year-old beginning band student. She is required to have a set of bells and mallets, and a practice drum pad for her class. She has to take her bell set to and from school each day. She rented a set from the school for a few months, and it was heavy and bulky. She loves the wheeled cart that comes with this set! The case is nicely padded, with pockets for sticks and mallets. The stand is easy to set up, and the bells mount easily to the stand. The bells sound great, and are quite well made. The drum pad has a snare-like sound, and a nice response for practicing rolls. The pad also mounts to the stand. Mallets and snare sticks are included. This outfit is an outstanding value! The case can be carried without the wheeled cart, by the main handle, over one shoulder, or as a backpack. My daughter is thrilled with it. She is practicing more, and looks forward to band class each day.
