I bought a Keilwerth ST90 four years ago, and I just loved it. It produces a wonderful sound, and it out plays any Yamaha I've ever used (I've used professional level Yamahas), no question. I've even won at state with this horn! There is only one flaw with the horn, and that is that the G and A above the staff are very sharp. But, besides that, the horn is wonderful. It rarely needs repair (with proper care!), the only thing I've taken it in for in the last year is for a recork, and that was because I used a very small mouthpiece on it. I would personally recommend this horn to anyone who wants an amaizing first horn. No doubt, this is the best student model on the market, and it'll compete with some pro levels.

A student and his parent brought this instrument to me to find out why it played with poor tone and played sharp. The student plays in one of the top wind ensembles in our state. After play testing I quickly discovered that the saxophone warbled on all pitches, as much as 75 cents, indicating a leak in the neck area. All pads seemed to seat and we even tried taping over some suspicious tone holes. Corrosion around the soldered seams of the neck indicates that the instrument may be leaking through at the neck crook. Overall, the product I examined appeared to be of excellent or superior craftsmanship. However, certain keys or subassemblies showed signs of corrosion from faulty laquer and some of the soldering was messy, as if performed by a beginner, not up to the standard of the rest of the instrument. I found no indication of where this instrument was manufactured.
