I decided to buy this violin because of the price, I figured if I didn't like playing the thing, it didnt cost me much anyways. At first, I didnt know if i made the right choice. After my first lesson a week after, i realized this is prob. one of the best music investments i made. It is a great instrument to start with. The pegs are slippery at first so it didnt hold a tune well, but once i started playing it more and more, it holds a tune great. Replacing the strings with better quality strings adds to the sound. :)

I ususally will not buy an instrument without hearing it first. However, I took a chance to buy this 1/2 violin for my daughter to use in beginning violin at school. It is an excellent value. The tone is very nice. The hardware is smooth. For the price range this is an excellent choice. All you need to do is set the bridge and tune. Everything you need is in the bag.

ok i so i bought this there was something wrong with it the strings it wouldnt stay in tune so it a great violin but i just ordered one for my kid it is ok this is good but not the best. so would by great for begginers ;) good look

This is a first violin for my 10 year old son and it plays very nice. I am impressed with the sound and quality of this violin. My older son who has had violin previously, played it also and thinks it is a very nice violin too. I don't think you would go wrong to purchase this. I think it is an exceptional violin for a great price!

I'm Justin Williams, a reknowned online singer/songwriter/guitarist from Missouri. Been around here a while, Anyway... Enough about me. The quality of the overall was not bad. The last commenter's son's violin teacher was an idiot, and apparently didn't stretch the strings when he tuned it... NOR tuned the force pressure peg tuners as he was supposed to. I received this as a Christmas present, and I'll be honest, the neck could have a little more playability as it's hard from the start to slide or perform vibrato due to a lack of "slickness" on the neck and strings, however, I have no problem with this, and in only two days using this violin and about 5 hours of play time, I'm at an intermediate level. This is an excellent student violin or something for the young player. I plan on getting a full 4/4 size next rather than the 1/2 size. :)
